2012 Sac CX wrap up

The 2012 Sacramento Cyclocross season is all done.  Wrapped up.  Over.  And even though putting on cyclocross races is a lot of work, especially that last blast of 2 Sac CX races and 3 Rodeocrosses in 15 days, I sure had a lot of fun.  I made a bunch of new friends, we put on a lot of great races, and found 8 fun, tough, and varied venues.  It's time to give some shouts out to those that helped it all happen:
Brian Joder @ bicyclingevents.com for building the foundation, providing the equipment, and giving behind the scenes guidance all season.
Gene Redmon @ timeyourace.com for his amazing timing and scoring software & system, putting out accurate results and lap times and getting all published on race day, every single race.
My sweetie Asa Salas @ Ace Course Design Company for her challenging and enjoyable course layouts, for holding the venues together on race day, and for keeping my brain in my head away from the races.
Bruce Kaiser at Kinetic Cycles for sponsorship, help, ideas, and support.
All of our generous sponsors:  Kinetic Cycles, Carmichael Cycles, Folsom Bike, Tour of Nevada City Bike Shop, Pactimo, Specialized, California Giant Berry Farms, Hammer Nutrition, Enduro Bearings, Yakima, Ride SFO, BEER Components, On the Go Towels, Brush-X, and some I can't bring to mind right now.
Our totally sweet venues and the people that let us use them: the City of Vacaville, the City of Grass Valley, Mary Tye and the Old Sugar Mill, Robert Goss at the City of Folsom, Joe at Lange Twins Winery, the City of Ione, and Steve Sailors at Laguna del Sol.
Special mention to a few people who added some finishing touches to put us over the top - Pete at Happy Trails for neutral service, Marty at tbb.cx and gheto.cx for the GHETO Call-Outs, and Matt and Chris at Brush-X for letting racers leave the last few races with clean bikes, and of course Rich Maile and John & Linda Elgart for being our predecessors in Sac CX and setting the bar high.
And last but never least, the volunteers who gave their days to keep us running, because NOTHING happens in bike racing without volunteers: Kasea Hutchins, Jessica Tanihana, Courtney Troy, Lynn Yelland, Bryan Beardsley, Ryan Wenker, Ashley Fruhwirth,  Chris Freeman, Matthew Freeman, Graeme Pitts, and those of you I forgot to mention, who are now entitled to punch me next time you see me.

Hang on for next year, we're gonna make it bigger, badder, bolder, faster, funner, and more of everything that was awesome about this year.  Got ideas about how?  Hit me up.

Yeah. . . it's on.

What's on?  A blog.  This blog.  Time will tell if that's worthwhile.

But what's REALLY on is cyclocross season.  Soon.  And that means tuning  and tweaking on the bike(s).  Gluing tires.  Coming home from training rides with your legs covered with mud and grass, and probably blood.  Of course, the engine's been neglected, it's still untuned and underpowered.  But now that the season has popped over the horizon and is rushing at me, let the pain begin.... I can't wait!
